The miracle cooking oil even healthier than Olive Oil (what is it?)

While Extra Virgin Olive Oil has always been (and will continue to be) a staple, nutritious, go-to oil for healthy cooking, there's a new kid on the block that's getting all the attention as of late, and for good reason.

This powerhouse oil is even being touted by "celebrity" fitness gurus like Jillian Michaels and Dr. Oz for its metabolism and weightloss benefits, and even more, Hollywood celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Angelina Jolie are swearing by its hair, skin, and anti-aging properties!

Oh me, oh my!  What ever could this miracle oil be?

Well, before we get to that, you may be shocked to learn that this oil is 90% SATURATED FAT...and yes, by most standards it's even healthier than extra virgin olive oil.

We're talking about Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.

While Extra Virgin Coconut Oil has a higher smoke point than Olive Oil (meaning it can withstand even higher temperatures without being damaged or denatured), its most unique health and fatloss benefits come from a special type of saturated fat that is most abundantly found in coconut oil: Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs).

MCTs are a very unique form of saturated fat that have been shown to possess antioxidant and anti-microbial properties to help fight off aging as well as anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral immune benefits.

Even more, several studies have linked the consumption of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil to smaller waist sizes and another study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found MCTs to be THREE times more effective at raising metabolism than long-chain fatty acids.

Beyond that, coconut oil has been shown to slow digestion, increasing feelings of fullness and stabilizing blood sugar levels.  Clearly including this "super" oil as part of your nutrition plan carries many benefits and is a win-win all around.

But the type of coconut oil that you choose is very important, as some coconut oils are BAD NEWS for your health (such as hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated coconut oil).

By far, the purest form of coconut oil is Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, and the top researchers and experts recommend 2 - 4 tablespoons daily.  The easiest way to get your daily quota of this super fat is to use coconut oil in cooking as you would olive oil or any other oil, in baking, and you can even mix it in your fat-burning protein shakes.

PIG OUT on 4th of July to burn more flab (here's how)

Today, we're going to teach you how you can use today's 4th of July appetizers, snacks, BBQ, AND dessert to actually help you BOOST your leptin levels and and fat-burning next week.  Ready?

You see, this scientifically-backed technique is known as periodic overfeeding, or more simply put, strategically "cheating" on your diet with all your favorites foods… like everything you'll find at the holiday BBQ that you're likely going to today (burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, banana pudding, brownies, cakes, etc), including one of our all-time favorites...Mac N' Cheese!  Now that's good stuff. :)

Now, you may be wondering how in the world eating these "bad" foods can actually have a positive effect on your waistline over the coming week, and it all traces back to leptin.

As mentioned in yesterday's post, leptin levels are highly correlated to your calorie intake, and after only one week following a calorie-restricted diet, levels can drop by as much as half, putting you at a dismal 50% of your fat burning potential.

And while that's clearly bad news for anyone looking to achieve a flat belly fast, there's also a glimmer of hope hidden in that unfortunate truth.

You see, because leptin is so closely related to your calorie intake, research also shows that periodically going OFF your diet and indulging in your favorite high calorie foods can give suffering leptin levels a much-needed bump in the right direction.

For this reason, we recommend to all our clients that they incorporate a weekly "cheat day" in to their nutrition programs—adding an additional 1000 calories or more in one day—and it's something you should definitely consider adding to yours.

And best of all, that means today's 4th of July holiday feast, treats, and goodies can actually BOOST your fat-burning next week provided you get right back on track...so enjoy the holiday and relax a little!
The down side to cheat days, however, is that the increase in leptin they produce only lasts so long and leptin levels will again begin to decline once you return to a reduced calorie diet. Naturally, you can't have a cheat day EVERY day and expect to lose fat, so what else can be done to combat fallen leptin levels throughout the week?

Fortunately, we show you an even BETTER, easier method (believe it or not) for increasing your daily leptin levels on the next page:

OVEREAT these foods to BURN more belly flab

Within your gut reside roughly 100 TRILLION living bacteria and maintaining the ideal ratio of “good bacteria” (known as probiotics) to “bad bacteria” is now gaining recognition as perhaps the single most important step you can take to protect your health and further along your fat loss goals.

With specific regard to fatloss, while the ideal healthy ratio of “good” to “bad” bacteria in your gut is 9 to 1, virtually every study performed on the obese population analyzing gut bacteria found higher instances of “bad” bacteria and lower levels of “good” bacteria within these individuals.  That's a far cry from the ideal 9 to 1 ratio and you can bet it's DEFINITELY a big reason why these folks are overweight and struggling to lose their stubborn belly flab.

That said, correcting this imbalance can have an IMMEDIATE waist-slimming effect as a recent double-blind study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that test subjects who took active measures to re-balance their gut bacteria ratio were able to reduce their abdominal fat by nearly 5 percent, while the “control” group experienced no positive changes in body fat levels at all.

So what exactly CAN you do to re-balance your gut bacteria ratio and begin experiencing these belly-flattening benefits for yourself?

Over the next few days we'll be sharing several methods with you, starting with today's belly-flattening tip:  OVEREAT fermented foods, such as:

• Lassi (an Indian yogurt drink, traditionally served before dinner)
• Various pickled fermentations of cabbage sauerkraut, turnips, eggplant, cucumbers, onions, squash, and carrots
• Kimchi (a Korean fermented vegetable dish)
• Tempeh
• Fermented raw milk such as kefir
• Plain, unsweetened yogurt

All of these foods are
rich in “good” bacteria, and their consumption will help to rebalance your overall gut bacteria ratio.  Just make sure to steer clear of processed yogurts that are loaded with sugars and/or artificial sweeteners which have been shown to actually DAMAGE your gut bacteria ratio instead of help it.

That being said, the biggest downfall with fermented foods is that many people do not particularly enjoy their taste, and the amount you’d have to eat in order to get enough healthy bacteria to really make a difference is a bit impractical for the average person to consume.

For example, in order to get enough good bacteria into your intestine from yogurt, you would need to force down 10 to 30 servings of plain, unsweetened yogurt every single day of your life. What’s more, yogurt is lacking in several key strains of good bacteria, so even 10 to 30 servings wouldn’t be enough!

Fortunately, there's a MUCH easier way, and we share that on the next page.

3 diet tips (you don't know these)

I have 3 unique diet tips for you to use starting right now...

(And PLEASE forward this to your friends...it will really help them.)

#1 - Time Your Protein Shake for Maximum Results

I first heard this simple, yet brilliant tip from my friend, Jim Wendler. I modified it a little bit for you.

If you want to lose fat, have a protein shake and some fiber before a meal. This will fill you up and help you avoid overeating at dinner or late at night.

The best recipe would be BioTrust Vanilla Cream whey protein blended in water with spinach and a few blueberries. (You can't taste the spinach, trust me!)

On the other hand, if you want to gain muscle, eat first and then have the protein shake (without fiber - use BioTrust Milk Chocolate mixed with milk and a tablespoon of almond butter). This gives you the extra calories you need for muscle building.

You'll discover the foods you need to eat AFTER dinner. Pretty cool, who knew, huh? (Unfortunately, tacos were not one of them!)

#2 - Replace Your Morning Juice with Protein

I'm shocked that so many TT readers still drink orange juice (and other sources of sugary liquid calories). The July issue of Men's Health magazine reported that orange juice dramatically spikes blood glucose. This increases insulin - a fat storing hormone. Boooo!

That one simple mistake is probably stopping your fat loss dead in its tracks.

Plus, the more sugar and carbohydrates you have at breakfast, the worse the rest of your daily meals will be.

On the other hand, research shows that when you replace processed and sugary carbs at breakfast with more protein, you feel full longer all day. So you eat fewer calories and burn more belly fat.

Use the BioTrust whey-spinach-blueberry blender drink idea from above instead. Or blend up your favorite apple with the Vanilla Cream. Those are two brilliant and simple recipes for getting your protein and fiber fast.

#3 - Use This Secret Snack at Night

No, not tacos. LOL.

Instead, one of the best snacks that support fat burning is pistachios. There's just 3 calories in each one, plus you probably burn a calorie trying to get those little suckers out of the shell.

That means you can have 50 pistachios for about 150 calories. Pretty good snacking.

On the other hand, I stumbled across a terrible new so-called healthy snack food last week that you MUST avoid.

They are called Blue Diamond Almond Chips and pack 140 calories in just 14 chips. Plus, most of those calories are from the #1 WORST ingredient you must avoid when eating at night.

Use these 3 diet tips until Sunday, and then get ready to join me on an incredible new (and free) fat burning challenge that I'll share with you then.

Back on track for fat loss,

but I'll be having the right foods for dinner tonight. No tacos!

Just protein and broccoli. Grass-fed meat and fiber rich cruciferous vegetables are two of the best foods to support your fat burning hormones.

Don't fall victim to the common diet mistakes you'll learn on that page.

The year's half-gone. Are you on track for success?

If not, get back on track today.
